IAA (OISC) Level 2 Immigration Adviser
Be a named adviser on our IAA registration application, and own casework supervision as we grow.
Part-time or consultancy · Remote, UK · A few days per month to start · Fee plus equity
Verity helps couples through the UK partner visa route under Appendix FM and the six years that follow — extension, settlement, citizenship. The software handles what is mechanical: document collection, deadline and absence tracking, and a deterministic rules engine that cites and dates everything it produces. A qualified adviser handles what is advice.
We are applying to the Immigration Advice Authority for registration in the Immigration category at Level 2. We are looking for at least one adviser who will be named on that application, and who will own the advice side of the business as it grows.
What you would do
- Be a named Level 2 adviser on our IAA application, and work with us to prepare it: client care letters, complaints procedure, fee scales, file review and supervision arrangements
- Once registered, carry a small caseload of partner and family route applications end to end
- Supervise and sign off casework, and set the standards the rest of the team works to
- Review and correct the outputs of our rules engine. Every override is logged, and that log drives what we build next
What we are looking for
- Current IAA (formerly OISC) Level 2 or Level 3 registration in the Immigration category or registration held within the last six months
- Real Appendix FM experience: the financial requirement, English language, exceptional circumstances, adequate maintenance
- Comfortable being the compliance conscience of an early-stage company, and telling founders no
- Available for a few days per month to begin with, growing as caseload grows
What we offer
- A fixed project fee for the registration work, then per-case fees once we are registered
- Equity, with vesting. This is an ownership role, not a name on a licence
- Real influence over how the product handles advice
- Low volume to begin with. We are not asking you to absorb a caseload on day one
Where we are, plainly. Verity is not yet IAA registered and does not give regulated advice. That is precisely the gap this role fills. You would be joining before registration and helping us obtain it, rather than being added to a licence after the fact.
If you have been through an IAA or OISC application before, we would especially like to hear from you.
How we work
- The rules are data, not code. Every rule carries a citation, effective dates and the stages it applies at.
- No model decides anything. Language models help with extraction and drafting. Nothing a model produces reaches a user as a determination.
- We never imply an outcome. No approval likelihoods, no probabilistic language reaching a user, ever. If that sounds like a constraint you would enjoy working inside, we will get on.
